James Moon, 84, of Alamogordo, NM passed away on March 27, 2025. James had been married to Eva (Hipp) Moon for 66 years. He was born in Dallas, TX on March 30, 1940, and was raised in Mesquite, TX.
James had been a resident of Alamogordo since 2008 when he moved here from Sardis, AR. He was a retired employee of the state of Arkansas. James was a man of great faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Alamogordo.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cora (Lybrand) Moon, and two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Eva, of the family home in Alamogordo; daughter, Deborah Moon of Johnson City, TN; son, Charles Moon and wife Jan (Loring) of Alamogordo; and four grandchildren. James would also like it to be mentioned that he is survived by dog, Shiloh, and cats, Missy and Goose. James loved animals and wildlife and cared for many pets throughout his lifetime.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 1100 Michigan in Alamogordo with Graveside to follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The Moon family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
