In Memory of Cynthia R Massengale

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a loving wife, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother, Cynthia Massengale, who departed this world peacefully in her home on March 22, 2024. Born on May 23, 1959, to Janie and Sharrell Hooper, both of whom predeceased her, Cindy was an inspiration of unconditional love, kindness, and generosity throughout her life.

Cindy lived a full and joyful life. She is survived by her loving husband, Vance Massengale; their children, Justin Gabaldon and his husband David Rodriguez III; Meghan Francia and her husband Arturo; the light of her life, Brooklynn; and her four siblings, Frank Hooper and his wife Sue, Gary Hooper and his wife Alynn, Tonya Bass and her husband Eddie, and Mandy Blades and her husband Cody along with numerous nieces and nephews. Cynthia's light shines brightly in their lives as they carry forward the lessons of unconditional love and kindness she tirelessly taught.

One of the joys of Cindy's life was her precious granddaughter, Brooklynn. She cherished every moment spent with Brooklynn. Their shared memories and love for each other will continue to nurture their bond in spirit, even in her absence.

A woman of simple pleasures, Cynthia delighted in looking for arrowheads in the foothills, a hobby that reflected her appreciation of history and the world around her. These quiet moments of exploration were a testament to her deep sense of wonder and her respect for the past.

Cynthia's life was marked by love and kindness, and she leaves a legacy of these virtues in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to inspire those left behind, reminding them of the beauty of a life with a profound love for others.

A celebration of life will be held on April 27, 2024 at 2:00 pm at 112 Sun Valley Road in Tularosa, NM.
