The family and friends of Adelina Ayers celebrate the life of this amazing woman who recently passed into heaven and to be with God, her beloved husband and ancestors. Adelina is the personification of the American dream. An immigrant from Mexico, she came to the United States only with her dreams and family to pursue the promise of our Great Nation. With courage in her heart and vision for her children - born and unborn, she strove to achieve the best life possible for her family in this Great Country. Adelina dedicated her life to her family and children and her newly adopted nation. She married a humble “GI” and proudly earned her American citizenship to embark upon a life of service to her children and nation. At times she was the family bread winner, but always she supplemented family income through her entrepreneurial enterprises from cleaning homes to crocheting beanie hats. Later in life, she continued her devotion to family by marrying again to another soldier, her beloved Dave Ayers. As an Army wife, she raised 6 children through the Vietnam War - with long and arduous separations with her husband. She instilled a sense of God, country and honor in each of her children and several of them went on to wear the cloth of the nation as a Soldier, Airmen (woman) and 2 Sailors. Adelina bears the scars of service to our nation through her husband and children whose decades of service spanned Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, East Timor, Bosnia and other operations. Also, in the service of their nation and communities in which they lived, she raised a Justice of the Peace, an Educator, Ministers, and business owners each dedicated to excellence. Each child firmly stamped with her steadfast spirit, moral compass and determination to be their best, as she was.

Never to shirk a challenge, Adelina endeavoured to position her children for success by encouraging and guiding her children to not only succeed, but to excel in everything they do. Her indomitable spirit, strength of character, devotion to her children, humbleness before God, and everlasting love are her enduring legacy.

Please join us - her family and friends, in the celebration of her life as a mother, Citizen of this Great Nation, and the personification of the American Dream.

The Ayers family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
