In Memory Harold Lee Johnson Sr.

A fighter to the very end, Harold Lee Johnson Sr. passed on Monday, January 8, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in Colorado Springs. He was born to Anna and Bud Johnson August 6, 1957, in Columbia Georgia. He grew up in Alamogordo, NM and would go on to live an adventurous life riding bulls in Germany while serving his country in the U.S. Army, moving back to Alamo where he played league softball, was an avid bowler, and spent the rest of his free time on the golf course perfecting his swing. Harold worked as a contractor for the government specializing in testing weapons support systems of different types for years. He had a special skill for being able to fix nearly anything which came from the time he spent in the construction industry.

Harold met Hallie (and daughter Melissa) in Alamo and after a brief move to California where Harold Lee Johnson Jr. (Lee) was born, they settled back to Alamogordo. They would go on to have three more children, Robert Darrell (Bobby), Anna Marie Arlene (Anna), and Amber Rae who all filled the house with love and laughter. Dad's later years were filled with love from a lady we all miss, Terri Jo Harper. They were two peas in a pod, spending quality time in each other's company as often as they could. Harold was excited to find that he had a bonus son, Brad, who he has built a special bond with over the past several years.

Harold is survived by his children, Melissa, Lee (Laura), Bobby (Jacquie), Anna (Jesus), Amber (Eddy), and Brad (Janica); his siblings, Harry, Gloria (Steve), Don (Dana), Fred (Martha), and Diana (Richard). The light of his eyes were his grandbabies, Celeste, Jordan, Makenzy, Chloe, Holden, Lola, Christiano, Bodie, Aubrey, Daisy, and Theodore whom will all miss him greatly. Preceding him in death were Hallie Johnson, Terri Jo Harper, parents Anna and Bud Johnson, and sister-in-law Virginia "Ginny" Johnson.

Family will greet friends to say goodbye at Alamogordo Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2024, with visitation at 1:00 pm, and service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Justin Crispin officiating. Graveside services will be conducted with Military Honors at 3:00 pm at Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo.

There will be a reception at the Desert Lakes Golf Course starting at 5:00 pm. Friends and family are welcome to join the celebration of Harold's life.

The Johnson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
