Alamogordo, New Mexico – February 11, 2026 – The City of Alamogordo is inviting developers, contractors, engineers, property owners, and all community members interested in land development to review and provide feedback on a comprehensive rewrite of its Subdivision Ordinance. The updated regulations aim to better guide future growth, ensure clear and modern standards, and support sustainable development in the city.

The current draft of the Alamogordo Subdivision Regulations has been shaped by input from the City Commission, key stakeholders, professional consultants including Bohannan Huston, and city staff. City officials are now seeking broader community and industry perspectives before finalizing the document.

Residents and professionals can review the draft ordinance online at: https://ci.alamogordo.nm.us/DocumentCenter/View/17911/DRAFT-Alamogordo-Subdivision-Regulations_25

Written comments can be submitted via email to pnz@ci.alamogordo.nm.us.

A key opportunity for direct engagement is an upcoming public workshop:

Location: Alamogordo Civic Center

Date: February 25, 2026

Time: 5:30 p.m.

The in-person session will bring together city staff, representatives from Bohannan Huston, and community members for open discussion and feedback collection. The event is also listed on the city’s main calendar for easy reference.

The Planning and Zoning Department oversees this effort as part of its role in managing land-use activities, including annexation, subdivision, zoning, and long-range planning initiatives such as the comprehensive plan, economic development plan, and infrastructure strategies. The rewrite is intended to make regulations more workable, equitable, and aligned with the community’s desired quality of life.
