ALAMOGORDO, N.M. – If you haven’t been to the 1200 block of New York Avenue and White Sands Blvd across from Wells Fargo drop everything and head downtown this weekend— because Alamogordo just turned this historic block into the most joyful, handmade, small-business celebration in the entire region.
The 1200 Block Pop-Up Emporium roars into Black Friday with doors flying open and a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m., welcoming shoppers into shopping packed with incredible local vendors. But the shopping party doesn't stop there! In an exciting expansion, nine talented sidewalk crafters and bakers have joined forces under the covered veranda in partnership with Our Little Country Store perfectly complementing the nine indoor crafters already dazzling visitors inside the official 1200 Block Pop- Up Emporium lineup. Together, that’s an unbeatable army of local makers turning the veranda into a ongoing living craft fair!
Step next door into Our Little Country Store itself and you’re wrapped in the warm glow of fine primitive goods, Americana décor, farmhouse signs, candles and melts, and seasonal treasures that scream “Alamogordo holiday spirit.” From the veranda to the indoor store shelves — every gift you pick up was dreamed up, crafted, or curated by someone who calls Otero County home.
This blockbuster Black Friday kickoff is the proud launch of the Block12.org initiative — a shining showcase of the small businesses anchoring the 1200 Block of Alamogordo MainStreet. It’s more than shopping; it’s a love letter to our community written in handmade candles, local baked goods, custom wooden crafts, and twinkling Christmas décor
The Alamogordo MainStreet District runs from the revitalizated 800 to 900 Blocks of New York Avenue to the 1200 block of New York Avenue and the 800 to 1200 Blocks of White Sands Blvd from La Hacienda to the Asian Garden.
On the 1200 block you'll find these same nine veranda crafters posted up and ready to greet you on as a part of the Pop Up Emporium:
• Black Friday (11 am until 8 p.m.)
• Small Business Saturday (11 am until 8 p.m.)
• Christmas on MainStreet December 6th (11 am until 8 p.m.)
