ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — The Alamogordo Police Department has announced the arrest of a local man following a multi-agency investigation into the possession and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
According to a news release issued on November 14, 2025, the department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) was contacted on September 5, 2025, by the Santa Fe Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit. The ICAC provided information identifying an individual suspected of possessing and distributing explicit images and videos involving minors.
The suspect was identified as Jevon Hairston. Following the lead, Alamogordo detectives executed multiple search warrants and conducted digital forensic examinations, which led to the recovery of over 1,000 images and videos of CSAM on Hairston’s electronic devices.
An arrest warrant was subsequently issued by the Otero County Magistrate Court, and Hairston was taken into custody on November 13, 2025. He was transported to the Otero County Detention Center, where he awaits arraignment.
Hairston faces the following charges:
• Five counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child (Under 13) – Possession
• One count of Tampering with Evidence
The Alamogordo Police Department emphasized its continued commitment to protecting children and working in collaboration with state and federal partners to investigate and prosecute crimes involving the exploitation of minors.
