AlamogordoTownNews.org mourns the loss of Alamogordo resident, actor, photographer and creative: Jason Adan Sedillo. Jason passed away on April 7, 2025, from a long, hard battle of a rare & severe form of an invisible autoimmune disease, Polymyositis.

About 4 years ago while operating Roadrunner Emporium, on the historic New York Avenue, we had the privilege to have our first introduction to a very talented and inspiring individual named; Jason Adan Sedillo also known as Lobo.

When operating the Emporium, we showcased many great artists for limited engagements and told their stories in order to educate the local community of the hidden gems of talent that existed within our very own community.  Jason Adan Sedillo was one of those unique individuals with talent, passion and compassion and as a creative lived a complex life.  When we first met Jason, he walked into meet us with a cane. He was a bit frail from his younger self. When first meeting him one was drawn into his deep smile, and the intrigue of his creative mind.  After speaking with him at length, on multiple occasions, one could feel the complexity of his life yet, feel his fire and passion for excellence.

Jason was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. USA on February 24, 1984.  When Jason was 5 years old he fell in love with cartoons and practiced cartoon character voices until he sounded like a few of the characters. That inspired him to entertain and how to garner a smile and an audience.

As  a young man at the age of 20 Jason had a son named Marcus. Jason was extremely proud of his son Marcus I. Flores-Sedillo, who is a United States Marine from Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Marcus was loved very much by his father who spoke fondly of him with pride.

At the age of 28 Jason was divorced. Soon after he was involved in a motorcycle accident. Shortly afterwards he became homeless and lived in his car all the while attempting to pursue his dream to work in the film industry.

Ultimately In October of 2012, Jason saw on on Facebook that a TV show had a free live audience, so Jason went to get out of the bad weather. Jason asked the crew on how he could get started in the film industry, which they explained he could start as a Production Assistant without pay, Jason started that night. The show later on had Jason doing security when special guests arrived such as Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul both from Breaking Bad. He met them and ultimately entered the film business. First as a PA, then as a grip and working in equipment. Ultimately he joined the actors union and is credited for roles in 16 productions for television and film.

Just before the pandemic, Jason was battling a mental health issue called Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and was public in his treatment as a role model to others to seek help. He continued his love and passion of photography, winning awards locally and statewide.  Jason received an International Honorable Mention Award in 2022 at the prestigious International Photography Awards for the photo titled, "Grandeur Rose.” He was in the top 70 in the nature professional category out of 14,000 entries from 120 countries. He would joke that when he passes away, his memorial would be engraved "R.I.P. Really Inspiring Photographer,” not “rest in peace."

He loved helping others and during his final months of life that he enrolled in, "Partners in Policymaking;" a program that teaches leadership skills for self-advocacy for people with disabilities. The program was founded on a national model of policy making. Those closet to him said he really loved the program because he was learning how to speak up and make changes in the law for people with all disabilities that he also experienced personally at a local, state, and national levels.

Jason also had a long childhood friendship since middle school with Darla Chandler that survived over the years.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel. As a community Alamogordo and the state of New Mexico was a better community for having Jason Adan Sedillo as a part of it. He will be missed.
