An update on recent developments with the El Paso Sector Border Patrol that includes Alamogordo.

On August 5th the Alamogordo United States Border Patrol had another K9 success getting more dangerous narcotics load kept off the streets.  With this apprehension over $2 Million worth of Meth was discovered concealed in a vehicle near Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Recently, a Border Patrol Agent in Lordsburg Station saved a stranded migrant in Charity Canyon in Cloverdale, New Mexico while carrying her on his back. The leadership recognized this agent and the Ms g El Paso Sector Agents who go above and beyond to protect and rescue those in need putting themselves in difficult situations. Selflessness and gratitude to their unwavering commitment.

In 3 separate incidents over the weekend, agents seized cocaine totaling 14.3 pounds at an immigration checkpoint & 31 fentanyl pills in Lordsburg, New Mexico.

The rescues continue via the El Paso Sector Border Patrol FY23 year to date the sector which includes Alamogordo has had over 390 rescues, many of which were conducted by their highly skilled BORSTAR operators and Nationally certified Border Patrol Agents EMTs.

DEPLORABLE CONDITIONS
Smugglers don’t care for the well-being of migrants. Images depict horrendous living conditions in a stash house where 9 people were staying. Sunland Park Police Department discovered 5 migrants and 4 USC children after a 6-year-old called 911 saying that her mother left her alone. Fiscal year 2023 to date, El Paso Sector has discovered 245 stash houses with over 3,200 migrants.

USBP Agents & interdiction agents in El Paso Sector recently arrested 50 undocumented subjects in a single stash house. Look at the conditions in which they were being kept. Criminal smugglers do not care about the health and well-being of the people they exploit.

Sadly this fiscal year, the El Paso Sector has recorded over 70 migrant deaths in remote desert areas in New Mexico. As temperatures soar, criminal organizations continue to recklessly endanger lives of smuggled migrants by placing profit over their safety. One migrant life lost, is one too many.

Deming Station agents intercepted 2 separate attempted smuggling schemes resulting in 15 migrants apprehended. 10 migrants were discovered in 1 vehicle on I-10. Another was stopped on NM-HWY 26 revealing 5 additional smuggled migrants.

Congratulations is due for Jesus Flores who was honored presenting the Newton-Azrak Award to El Paso Sector BPA Flores from the Lordsburg Station. This is U.S. Border Patrol’s highest honor for acts of heroism and his actions personify the values of the U.S. Border Patrol.
