Alamogordo, NM – November 29, 2025 – While downtown celebrates Small Business Saturday, a different kind of celebration will kick off tonight on Highway 70 West: VFW Post 7686 is opening its doors for the inaugural Teen Adventure Night, a low-cost, fully supervised evening created specifically for Alamogordo’s middle and high school students.
The event runs from 7 p.m. until late at the post located at 700 Hwy 70 West. Admission is just $5 at the door, a price point organizers say was chosen deliberately so no local teen is left out.
“This town has needed a safe, affordable place for kids to hang out on weekend nights for years,” said Post Organizers. “We have the space, we have the volunteers, and we have veterans who remember what it’s like to be a teenager with nowhere to go. So we’re doing something about it this holiday weekend.”
The evening will feature:
• A live DJ playing current hits and requests
• Open karaoke stage
• Pool tables, foosball, corn hole, giant Jenga, and board games
• A full snack bar with nachos, hot dogs, candy, and sodas
• Adult supervision by VFW members and screened volunteers
Alcohol and vaping are strictly prohibited, and the entire event is designed as a drop-off-friendly environment for parents.
The launch comes as part of a broader push by the newly elected 2025–2026 leadership at Post 7686 to make the post more inclusive and family-oriented. Organizers say strong turnout Saturday could turn Teen Adventure Night into a monthly or twice-monthly tradition.
“We’re starting small, but we’re ready to grow this as big as the community wants it,” organizers added. “If the kids show up, we’ll keep the lights on and the music playing other nights.”
Doors open at 7 p.m. tonight. Parents and teens are encouraged to spread the word; no pre-registration is required.
