Lady Justice not looking favorable on Griffin…

The scales of blind justice from lady justice continue to rule against disgraced Couy Griffin  which serves as District 2 Otero County Commissioner and Otero County Commission Vice Chairman.

Yet, again the former  amusement park actor who once portrayed a cowboy looses in court.  The first of many loses was via arbitration of which he personally picked which on July 7, 2020, chosen by Cowboys for Trump agreed with the New Mexico Secretary of State's Office determination that “Cowboys for Trump fell under the definition of a political action committee.”

And now in actual court, that being New Mexico First Judicial District Court Judge representing lady justice, Maria Sanchez-Gagne  confirmed in a June 3 arbitration hearing a previous ruling which required Cowboys For Trump to register in New Mexico as a political committee pursuant to the Campaign Reporting Act.

Sanchez-Gagne order upholds a June 2020 arbitration award in the case between Cowboys For Trump and its founders Couy Griffin and Kay Griffin and the New Mexico Secretary of State.

Per the Secretary of States office "The order demands that C4T needs to pay the money they owe and register as a political committee.”

This of course is just the tip of the iceberg for legal troubles for Griffin who faces Federal criminal proceedings in Washington DC for his participation in activities around the insurrection of the United States Capital on January 6th, 2021.

Mr. Griffin has continued to argue his case in a variety of motions in an attempt to get that case thrown out and thus far has continued to loose that battle as well.

A third battle is brewing concerning a recall and an attempt to remove him from office. He stands defiant he won’t resign yet spends little time on constituent concerns, continues to travel outside his district on junkets in support of Trump whose campaign distanced itself from Mr. Griffin and the Cowboys for Trump organization due to outlandish comments which even President Trumps staff felt uncomfortable with.

Couy, maybe it’s time to put on those big boy spurs and pants on and actually act the part of representing your constituents in local community action. Take some of that time you traveled, as a want to be cowboy, and clean up some of the pockets of poverty and blight in your district. Act as a messenger to business recruitment of high paying 21st Century jobs for the people you represent…

Or continue to parade as a cowboy actor in the shadows of a president that himself distanced himself from you.

The people deserve better from leaders in their district.
