ALAMOGORDO FIRE DEPARTMENT Brush Fires and Structure Fire on June 12th, 2021
Alamogordo, NM Sunday, June 13th, 2021, at approximately 1304 hours on June 12th,2021 Alamogordo Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire in the area of Eudora and Canal Avenue. This brush fire was quickly extinguished. While still on scene a second dispatch came out for a brush fire west of the 2300 block of North White Sands Boulevard. The second brush fire was also quickly extinguished. The AFD Fire Investigation unit was requested to conduct origin and cause investigations of the fires. These two fires were ruled as Incendiary and are believed to be connected. Several persons of interest were developed. The investigation is ongoing by the AFD Fire Investigations Unit and the Alamogordo Police Department.
Later in the night at approximately 2338 hours on June 12th,2021 Alamogordo Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire in the area of Post and Walker Avenue. While enroute it was discovered that there were two separate fires in the area. The first brush fire was located east of the Paradise and Walker Avenue intersection. The second was a Structure fire east of Walker Avenue in Valley Vista Trailer Park on Post Avenue. The fires were quickly extinguished. The AFD Fire Investigation unit was requested to conduct origin and cause investigations of the fires. These two fires were ruled as Incendiary and are believed to be connected. The investigation is ongoing by the AFD Fire Investigations Unit and the Alamogordo Police Department Detectives Division.
